Homemade in Orange County

Maple View Farm was founded by Bob Nutter and it is a family-owned dairy farm which was established in November 1963 in Orange County. In November 1996 the dairy farm began providing bottled milk. It was the first in a series of steps that led to the production of ice cream. On New Year’s Day in 2001, the Maple View Farm country store opened. Bob Nutter and his daughter Muffin Nutter Brosig came up with the idea to make homemade ice cream using their farm fresh milk. The community was thrilled at their ice cream endeavor.

A prominent sign posted near the Maple View Farm Country Store that read “cow to cone” ice cream. This helps to point lucky visitors in the right direction for some of the very best ice cream and dairy products to be found. They have over 20 different flavors of ice cream to offer their customers. They also have waffle cones, Banana Splits, Sundays and floats. The Maple View country store has a down-home feel and even include rocking chairs on the porch for visitors to sit in while enjoying their ice cream.

Maple View Farms Has a deep respect for farming, its heritage and traditions. The Maple View Farm Country Store not only offers ice cream but they also have local cheeses, eggs, local soap, and of course their milk. They also offer their customers a selection of tasty homestyle candies such as fudge and old fashioned candy. Inside the store you can also find locally-made crafts and North Carolina pecans.

The Maple View Farm Country Store offers not only an extensive collection of dairy products and other hard to find treasures but it is also located on scenic open farmland. Visitors can look across the open field to see the Holstein cows that produce the milk that creates their mouth watering Southern ice cream. In honor of July being National Ice Cream month you simply must visit Maple View Farm and sample some of the best ice cream around. Just imagine sitting on the Maple View Farms Country Store front porch in one of their old fashioned rocking chairs with your ice cream and watching the sunset over the farm land.
